Allreasons Ube Powder pack

Real ube, not purple sweet potato

Purple sweet potato powder is sometimes sold as ube. They are different plants: ube is the purple yam, Dioscorea alata, the traditional Filipino tuber, and purple sweet potato is Ipomoea batatas. Ours is Dioscorea alata and nothing else. The ingredient list is one line, ube powder 100%, with no carrier such as maltodextrin and no added sugar, flavouring or colouring. The purple is the yam's own.

Ube for cafés, bakeries, ice cream and food brands

Cafés and bubble tea

An ube latte from one ingredient: stir 1 to 2 tablespoons, about 15 to 30 g, into dairy or plant milk and dissolve it fully. Colour and flavour arrive together, with no separate colouring or syrup to keep in stock.

Bakeries and patisserie

Fold it into cheesecakes and buns, or work it into cake, cookie, pancake and waffle batters. It is dosed by weight and brings the colour and the flavour in one step.

Ice cream and desserts

Into ice cream bases and classic Filipino desserts like ube halaya and halo-halo.

Food manufacturers

The 25 kg bag for production, with the specification sheet for your supplier file and a Certificate of Quality with every batch.

Retail and distribution

The 100 g retail pack carries an EAN barcode and 24 months of shelf life, for grocery, specialty and online.

Ube powder is dried and milled purple yam, Dioscorea alata, the traditional Filipino tuber. It is naturally bright purple, with a mild, sweet and nutty flavour and a vanilla-like note, and it goes into lattes, bakes, ice cream and desserts as colour and flavour in one ingredient.

Is it real ube or purple sweet potato?

Real ube. Ours is purple yam, Dioscorea alata, and the ingredient list reads ube powder 100%. Purple sweet potato, Ipomoea batatas, is a different plant that is sometimes sold as ube.

Where is your ube grown and packed?

The yam is grown in China. Our 100 g, 1 kg and 5 kg packs are packed in Latvia, and the 25 kg bag ships unopened in the supplier's bag. Every order is dispatched from Latvia.

Wholesale prices start at €33.00 excl. VAT for a 1 kg pack and €162.00 excl. VAT for a 5 kg pack, which is €32.40 excl. VAT a kilo. Prices come down at higher volumes, and the 25 kg bag is priced on request.
